The *word* for 2015

In our home a new guy project has been gaining momentum and occupying recently idle hands and minds. The hobo stove!  Perhaps you have no idea what this is.  I'm here to enlighten you- and provide pictures!  Yahoo's Definition of hobo:
  1. One who wanders from place to place without a permanent home or a means of livelihood.
  2. A migrant worker.
  3. A large, crescent-shaped woman's handbag with a single shoulder strap and usually a zippered top.
Definition #3 is new to me and certainly is different than # 1 & 2!

Earlier, in response to my Facebook post, my friend Juliane predicted the word, "hobo" as the *word* for 2015.  Surprisingly, her theory has already come to fruition as just moments ago in the new CBC tv comedy series "Schitt's Creek" our lady, Moira (Catherine O'Hara) exclaimed: "Did you notice any Hobo's or crackheads loitering around this motel?!"

Some older folks may remember The Littlest Hobo tv series.  The titular Hobo, who wanders from town to town, helping people in need. What a fabulous dog, and a successful series- I remember it.  Everyone loves the story of an unlikely helper, one who needs no recognition but thrives on a good deed done right.

The hobo stove is an inexpensive, light-weight method to cook a meal or simply entertain your family.  It works with many types of fuel: alcohol; methanol; ethanol; isopropanol (rubbing alchohol); whatever. It works. Or at least it's what work is these days to some folks around here.

Here's the connection: We are down to one income here in the Wiseman household.  Don't call us hobo's yet!  For now, what this translates to is the Mr. has significantly more time on his hands.  We don't worry about it though- we don't mind adapting to change, even if it means cooking hot dogs with our admittedly genius hobo stove.  Face it- you're thinking a hot dog sounds pretty good right now.

I wonder how many times you will hear the *word* hobo in 2015?  I'm going to start counting.

Phillipians 4:19 - My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 13:12 - Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU".

Today's creation: "The blue aureola flaming boob."
